It's Time to Stop the Genocide

"It's time to stop the cultural genocide our colonial system is continuing to pedal. The stolen generations story will be a continuing crime until there is an apology and a reparations tribunal," said ANTaR Vic spokesperson Bryan Andy.

This was the response of ANTaR Victoria to the High Court's decision in the Cubillo v Commonwealth which involves the issue of the Stolen Generations.

"The High Court did not make a finding in their favour only because of legal technicalities. Our colonial system is inadequate to the task of healing the nation. It's time the government stopped hiding behind legal technicalities and an ideology of denial. It is time we had a process to repair the damage of centuries of racism. The Rabbit Proof Fence is not just a film - it symbolises our colonial brutality. It's time the government stopped hiding behind it."

"Let's stop the brutality. Those who support the stolen are invited to the Aboriginal Advancement League on Sunday, May 26. Just because the government is morally corrupt doesn't mean the people are corrupt."
