NAIDOC Week - 7-14 July 2002

(National Aboriginal & Islander Day Observance Committee)

NAIDOC Week is an annual celebration of the survival and vitality of Aboriginal peoples and Torres Strait Islander peoples. It is also an opportunity to celebrate the uniqueness of their traditions and cultures and to recognise the on-going struggle for justice and equality.

NAIDOC events are held around the nation and provide an opportunity for Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians to come together and celebrate.

The theme for this years NAIDOC Week is "Recognition, Rights, Reform".
