ANTaR launches Healing Hands: Indigenous Health Rights Campaign. 18 Feb 2004. The Governor of NSW, Prof Marie Bashir and the 'father of reconciliation', Patrick Dodson, launched ANTaR's Indigenous Health Rights Campaign.

Report finds 'practical reconciliation' has been a failure. 17 Oct 2003. Reconciliation Inquiry report released. 9 Oct 2003. The report of the Senate inquiry into national progress on reconciliation, "Reconciliation: Off Track", was released on 9 October, delivering a damning report-card on the Government's actions over reconciliation. Further information.

New Indigneous protocols document
. Sep 2003. A new Indigneous protocols document: Respect, Acknowledge, Listen - practical protocols for working with the indigenous community of Western Sydney has been produced by Community Cultural Development New South Wales (CCDNSW). You can download the protocol here.
4 Sep 2003  Help protect Indigenous human rights watch-dog
The Government currently has legislation before the Senate which will result in the weakening of Australia's Human Rights body, HREOC and abolishing the position of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Social Justice Commissioner. 9 Jul 2003  A win for the Mirrar on Jabiluka
After a 25 year struggle to stop mining at Jabiluka in Kakdu National Park, the Mirrar people have secured an agreement from the mine's owners, Rio Tinto, to rehabilitate its controversial Jabiluka uranium mine and to sign an agreement to give the traditional owners a right to veto any future development at the site. November 2002  Senate Reconciliation Inquiry
The Australian Senate has initiated an inquiry into the response of the federal government to the reconciliation process. The Inquiry is due to report by March 2003. Submissions are now closed.

August 2002  Treaty Community Seminar kit.
ANTaR, in collaboration with ATSIC, has produced a Treaty Community Seminar learning kit for reconciliation groups, community groups, schools and tertiary institutions. The kit is available free for download here.
August 2002  National Treaty Conference

ATSIC, AIATSIS and ANTaR co-hosted the National Treaty Conference at the National Convention Centre, Canberra in August. Select papers from the conference are now available. July 2002 - Stolen Wages Campaign

From 1904 to 1987, the Queensland Government withheld or underpaid wages earned by Aboriginal workers. The Beattie Government has offered a settlement totalling $55million but this is only a fraction of the stolen wages. Find out more
